Jo Anne Bokros passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022. This photo is of her backyard, the back yard that I grew up with, but over the years my mother transformed what was a big, grass rectangle into a lush garden full of birds, animals, a lawn comprised of wild strawberry, wild violets, and anything else that could co-exist and tolerate the lawn mower. I spent many hours on this back step thinking, working out problems, having wonderful conversations with friends and family members. This image was taken late in my mother’s life when she was still able to live on her own. I have used it as my desktop background for years. Every time I sit down at my desk, whether I am actively working or not, I am right back there in one of the most peaceful places I will ever know. Thanks, mom, for teaching me how to be still and revel in my own boredom.

I’m fascinated by the surf against the rocks. I keep going back to that one but I think my favorite is the irish city on the lake

The Irish village is Killaloe, Ireland. It was a typical drizzly night and I walked out of what, arguably, is the finest pub in Ireland. I lived there for a summer. I highly recommend it! Thanks for your comments, Serge

That is a small part of a Killaloe, Claire. Beautiful village full of great people. The lake is a popular summer destination for the Irish well-to-to. the barge in the foreground is a popular way to spend a summer; cruising up and down Laugh Derg to all the nicest pubs in Ireland.
